DON'T GIVE UP ON CHURCH YET...

There’s a trend happening that you may have been watching. What is it? Lot’s of people have been saying, “Good bye” to the local church. There’s a variety of contributing things to be sure, such as “it’s boring”, or “I had a bad experience”, how about, “We got burned really bad”, or all they talk about is money.” While all of those reasons may be legit, the biggest factor is because they don’t believe. It’s difficult for some people to believe in a God that is sometimes misrepresented in church, making Him out to be something other than Who He presents himself to be in the Bible. Others say that they connect with God in different ways than the church, yet they have a heart for Jesus, the poor and needy, the outcast and the marginalized. Many of them still have an interest in going on a Mission Trip through a church and serving in a foreign country. There is this desire to be the Church rather than going to church. But there’s nothing quite like doing life together. The Church still belongs to God. Here’s a few reasons why God’s wisdom says we need the local church… The Church is Jesus Bride – and He still loves her dearly The Church is a Family – it’s not exclusive, but it has brothers, sisters, sons, daughter’s, grandmas and grandpas. And it even has some dysfunction at times. The Church is a Great and Diverse Community – It spans the world. No matter where you go, you’ll run into a brother or sister. The Church Teaches How to Love and Serve – It’s raised a bunch of us, teaching and instructing us along the way. The Church Needs You – without you, the church is missing an important body part. We’re lacking completeness. So, don’t give up on the Church yet. This weekend is an OUTSTANDING opportunity to be intentional about inviting a friend. Never underestimate the power of an invitation. It’s what’s bringing the majority of new people through our doors. The Deer Flat family always does an incredible job at inviting friends. With this being Easter Weekend, people will be a bit more receptive to an invitation. Why not risk it. The services are going to be amazing and we will have a chance to celebrate the Risen Savior. The is the Event That Changed Everything! I’ll be speaking about this on Sunday. I can’t wait to see you! COME EXPECTING Pastor D By the way… If you’re able, would you endeavor to take the parking spots that are the farthest away from the building. This will allow our visitors easy access. Would you consider traveling to DC with Jer and I in July to attend the Christians United For Israel Summit. July 8-9. All details are at cufi.org. We would be so fortunate! Let us know if you have questions.
