Summer in the Psalms - Psalm 83(1).jpg

Hey Church Family, Jer and I are on our way back from attending the Christians United For Israel Summit in DC. What a great Summit it was. Once again it was a privilege to go with almost 40 Idahoans to Capitol Hill and advocate for Israel. CUFI has now surpassed 7 million members. The largest grassroots movement of people who simply believe that Israel has a right to exist and a right to defend herself. With the concerning increase of antisemitism, it was a perfect time to gather and make an appeal for legislation that would confront the growing disdain for Israel and the Jewish people. More on this later.

As we move through this second month of Summer, we continue our focus on the Book of Psalms. This Sunday we’re going to take a look an amazing Psalm. It’s one of the very few Psalms that is listed in the category of Prophecy. Psalms 83 describes the Nation of Israel surrounded by a group of neighbors who want to see her wiped out. Sound familiar? We’ll take a deeper look at what this Psalm tells us about the future. Is it possible that the Psalms 83 war could be on the horizon? This is one of those Sunday’s that would be perfect for including a friend.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to you for standing by the church this summer in your generous giving and faithful attendance. We’re almost half way through July and staying strong. Summer camps have been strong, safe and full of fun and spiritual growth. If you haven’t done it already, I hope you get a chance to run away for a bit. Everyone needs a vacation and I want to encourage you to make an effort to take one. Summer provides great opportunities to get away, catch your breath and return better than when you left.

Let me finish with an invitation to join us on July 19th for a Shabbat evening. This will be a very unique opportunity to enjoy a very special guest that will be with us Friday evening and Saturday morning. Dorice Horenstein will be speaking about, "Chambers of Our Hearts”. You can check her out on You Tube. You’ll fall in love with who she is.

Friday evening will be a Shabbat dinner with teaching by Dorice. Because a meal is involved, you must reserve your seat for a $20 donation. You can sign up by email at jermcgar@aol.com or stop by the Welcome Center this Sunday and you can sign up there.

Saturday Morning from 9 until 12, Dorice will speak again. Everyone is welcome. An offering will be taken. For More information, just contact Jerri at jermcgar@aol.com

Dorice will speaking about the beauty and mystery of the Hebrew language down to the meaning of the letters and numbers. She brings the words to life for us as we find God speaking in the hidden places. We invite you to join us for an amazing journey of finding the deep wellspring of His Living Word! Her books will be available for purchase before and after each session. I hope you can join us. Save the date. Please feel free to invite a friend!

In the meantime, thanks for helping make this an amazing summer at Deer Flat. I am the most fortunate pastor to serve such an outstanding flock. I can’t wait to see you this Sunday. Come expecting an outstanding Lord’s Day!

Loving You and Him,

Pastor D
