Maybe it’s the salvation of a loved one, a spiritual breakthrough, healing from an illness? To you it may seem impossible (and the enemy would want you to believe that), but God loves to answer impossible prayers because He lives in the realm of what seems impossible. He wants us to be obedient in prayer so that He can stretch our faith to the place where He dwells. It’s only God that makes the impossible possible, by His might and power alone. And He wraps His strength around our weakness, bringing our faith to a new level.

What if we were just dumb enough to believe that God can do anything? Anything that is written in God’s Word is possible for anyone who believes. What if we had a big dose of audacious faith?

Across my years, one of the people that has inspired me is Pastor Jim Cymbala. He’s one of these guys who has this capacity to believe God for greater things. I haven’t been able to get away from something he said. “I despair at the thought that my life might slip by without God showing Himself mighty in my life.” – Jim Cymbala.

2 Kings 3 is an incident in the life of the prophet Elisha. Elisha is an under-rated prophet. Elisha did miracles everywhere he went. Fire from heaven, rain to heal a drought, defeating the host of prophets of Baal. There’s is nothing God can’t do.

We can position ourselves, learn and get training, but only God can make it rain. After we’ve done all that we can do, we have to remember that only God can send favor, mercy, salvation, and healing. Only God can make it rain.

Faith believes it before it sees it. Let’s pray for God to start a groundswell. Don’t let time talk you out of your prayer life. Life can beat the audacity out of you. God is not done with us yet. Do it or die trying.

Just like Elijah, keep trusting, keep believing. It’s not easy. Like Elisha, If we will dig the ditches God will send the rain. If you will do what you can do God will do what only He can do. Sometimes it doesn’t seem like anything is happening, but you don’t know what God is doing behind-the-scenes.

Hebrews 11:1 states that “Faith is the confidence of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen.” Let’s determine that we’re going to expect God to do great things through our life. Don’t dig one ditch... make the valley full. Noah looked stupid building a boat until it started to rain.

This Sunday, you’re going to hear a story that will inspire you to believe God for greater things. Whatever you do, don’t miss this Sunday. This is definitely one of those Sunday’s you’re going to want to invite someone who needs God to do something only He can do. Go bold and invite! I can’t wait to see you this Lord’s Day! Let’s believe God to do great things!
