THANK YOU PASTORS
As we approach another year complete on the calendar, we often get to reflect on what was most important to us. We have seen our friends for the first time in many months, held a newborn grandchild’s hand, watching our children grow before our eyes, going along gracefully as we age, and more. As we do this, it is often the event that we focus upon. A holiday, an anniversary, our little league game night, or any of life’s many distractions. The most difficult at times is remembering that which goes on every day.
Did we thank our spouse for preparing the meal, or for cleaning the garage? Have we put our time into the chore that we said we would complete? Can we smile when we are asked to be there to pick up the kids? It just seems that it will be there tomorrow and we have other things to do. Life is not the fast track we may run along daily; it is the opportunity for joy that we can receive by reflecting on what gifts we have been given.
This is Pastor Appreciation Month and we have several pastors that make the work of our Lord leap towards us every day. And I do not use the word leap lightly. It literally means that we get a jumpstart toward Jesus. Sometimes it’s the sermon that has spoke straight to our hearts. But it may be a note when there is a loss that needs support from a caring team. A word that lifts the spirits of the troubled by being a supporting ministry.
Our sermon series that has had pastors sharing that they are as human as us and still look towards our Heavenly Father for guidance and direction has been inspiring. Their work makes us get past just an event and makes the mundane have importance. Likely this proves that Jesus does not see anything as mundane. Please join us as we go beyond prayers and lift them up as your Deer Flat Ministry Team for Christ. We sincerely thank you all.
