...is our response, both personal and corporate, to God for who He is and what He has done, expressed in and by the things we say and the way we live.—Louie Giglio
“The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: “He is good; His love endures forever.’ Then the temple of the LORD was filled with a cloud, and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the temple of God” (2 Chronicles 5:13).
“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving” (Psalm 69:30).
“My hearts leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song” (Psalm 28:7).
“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord” (Psalm 40:3).
“Sing to the LORD, you saints of His, praise His holy name…You turned my wailing into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give You thanks forever” (Psalm 30:4, 11-12)
“Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs” (Psalm 100:2).
“Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous, it is fitting for the upright to praise Him. Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to Him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy” (Psalm 33:1-3)
Our purpose is to edify the Body of Christ through the leadership of worship as well as to provide a place of expression for those He has gifted. This includes people who assist us in worship, including artists, dancers, actors, sound, media, and lighting, as well as musicians.
Participation in these areas of ministry are open to all, Grade 6 and older, who demonstrate faithfulness to the mission and leadership of our church family as well as the gifting and ability to minister. In most cases, auditions are not necessary, but our Worship Pastor will want to have time with you to find your best fit of ministry. Contact Pastor Carol Whitbeck, unless otherwise indicated, to become involved in any of the following areas:
The choir leads the congregation in our 9:30 am service and ministers throughout the year at musicals and special events. Rehearsals are Monday nights at 6:45 pm.
The Orchestra plays Sunday mornings for our 9:30 am service and for special events throughout the year. Rehearsals are Sunday mornings at 8:30 am
VOCAL WORSHIP TEAM
Worship teams are developed through personal interview and assist in worship each Sunday in both services. Participation in a team requires a high level of commitment and personal preparation.
Comprised of acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, percussion, and keyboard, the band plays Sunday mornings for the 11:00 am service and for special events throughout the year. Personal interview required. Rehearsals are Thursday nights at 6:45 pm.
This ministry is open to anyone with a desire to move! Participants will be asked to be involved in worship services and special events.
DRAMA & ARTISTS
Jesus had a special way of making a point--through parables, stories. Drama is a way for us to tell a story. Every Christmas our choir, actors, and orchestra join together to tell a story of hope and love. At other times of the year, actors are a part of seasonal and special services. Artists, too, can have a place of ministry by expressing their creativity through their chosen mediums. Contact Pastor Carol for more information.
