GOD BLESS AMERICA

Ryan Stoops   -

In a season when things seem to be getting tougher and darker by the day, we pause to celebrate an enormous victory for life. By now, you are more than aware that Roe v. Wade has been overturned which is a monumental moment for the future of our country. But even more important than America’s image, this is significant for all people. Imago Dei is the beautiful truth that all humanity is made in the image of God, giving all people inherent dignity and value. Dignity is not about what we do, but about who we are as image-bearers. So, today we pause to rejoice for all those who currently bear His image and are especially grateful for all those that will now bear His image tomorrow.

As you are well aware, this fight for life is not over. The battle lines have merely moved to the individual states, our marching orders remain the same. We will continue to fight both in the spiritual world (Ephesians 6) with our prayers and in the physical world with our love and actions. Here are just a few ways we can continue to support the cause of life:

  • Become a prayer warrior for all – the loveable and unlovable
  • Identify single moms and dads who could use your love and support
  • Partner with our local pregnancy centers (Lifeline Pregnancy in Canyon County & Stanton Healthcare in Ada County)
  • Prayerfully consider adoption & foster care
  • Generously support ministries that help reduce adoption barriers (avg cost of adoption is between $25,000-$50,000)
  • Graciously love our elected officials to keep fighting for life

As God’s church continues to engage abortion in ways that demonstrates His love for all people, we will continue to see amazing opportunities to celebrate just like we experienced last week. And to continue this celebration, I want to personally invite you to be with us this Sunday, July 3rd to hear from our special guest, David Ripley, the executive director of Idaho Chooses Life. This weekend is a chance to gather as the church and seek God’s face and favor over our nation. As we head into this year’s 4th of July holiday, we cry out in one voice, “God bless America!!!

See you Sunday,
Pastor Ryan
