CONTINUE MEETING TOGETHER

Martin Flaherty   -

What are your summer plans? Vacation? Camping? Farming? Moving? New job? Getting married? Having a baby? Boating? Road trip? Mission trip? BBQs? However God directs your summer activities, I hope you take advantage of the ongoing classes and groups offered on Sundays and throughout the week to continue to guide you and light your path.

The Bible is clear in its example for us to continue meeting together.
Acts 2:42ff “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer…Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts…”

And the Bible is clear in its encouragement to continue meeting together:
Ephesians 5:18,19 “Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

And the Bible is clear in equipping all of us as followers of Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Seasons change. Summer starts. School ends. But discipleship must continue. Deer Flat groups and classes continue with opportunities to grow and learn and connect. So, in between all the summer plans, I hope we all make sure to visit a class on the days we are home. There are lots to choose from, here are some highlights:

1. Tuesday afternoons – Boundaries class – led by Angie Nichols
2. Wednesday mornings – Bible study – led by Dr. Bruce Johnson
3. Wednesday evenings – Adult Singles group – led by Jan Hanson
4. Thursday evenings – Celebrate Recovery
5. Saturday mornings – Mens’s Bible study – led by Phil Whitbeck
6. Sunday mornings – there are several great options to drop in and try something new.

You can always find more information about classes being offered and locations and times at https://www.deerflat.org/groups/

If you have children, be sure they are signed up for Vacation Bible School coming up quick.
If you have youth, be sure they are aware of all the camps and summer events happening soon.
There is no shortage of ministry happening at and around Deer Flat this summer and we want you to be a part of it!

God bless,

Martin Flaherty
